I usually go for the creamy type. Slather it on in a hot bubble bath, after a good exfoliation (& steam courtesy of the hot bath!) and let the creamy goodness, moisturise my tired skin. Its fab when you can feel it working; sinking deep down into the tissues that are crying out for moisture!
However (!) I have found myself the past couple of months using the complete opposite, when it comes to the mask/skincare spectrum... I found myself drawn to and intrigued at a peel off face mask.
Instead of being uber moisturising and nourishing, these tend to tighten and energise the skin. Now, I need me some of that after the cocktails over the festive period!!
The product I have been using:
MUDD ~ PEEL-OFF MASK
Where did I find it? I hear you ask... Well, none other than Pound World!! Yep, I said that. It cost one whole pound, a quid, £1! Awesome!!
Best thing is, I actually, really do like it and recommend it.
Why?
No 1 ~ It is resealable. Perfect. As there is no mess closing or pushing the product out the hole you made. Or trying to put a massive lid back on. Instead, there is a small cap. Easy.
Resealable, a rarity for peel off face masks!
No 2 ~ It says you can use it up to 5 times. If you only want to target an oily T zone however, then it will last longer, if you place it down your neck, then it will run out quicker. The product is flexible.
5 applications (Making each application 20 pence!)
No 3 ~ You know when the mask has done its job, as it dries. It dries and tightens. Okay, you do look like something out of a horror movie but, hey, its working!
No 4 ~ As it dries, you totally know what a face lift would be like! Haha. Ok, this bit is irrelevant...
No 5 ~ Taking the mask off is kinda fun... Also there is zero mess or fuss. No cream in the hairline either! It just peels off in sections. Dry.
Peel-Off formula = No mess, No fuss
No 6 ~ My skin feels fab after. So fresh. It also absorbs my moisturiser much better.
No 7 ~ Others have complimented my skin since use! Bonus. (Also down to healthier lifestyle)
No 8 ~ It only takes 15 - 20 mins to do.
No 9 ~ Its a gentle formula, which means most people *should be able to use it.
Gentle cleansing
The cons...
No 1 ~ You need to make sure the mask is applied evenly. Otherwise you are left waiting for one area to dry when another is ready to peel.
No 2 ~ When the mask is drying, it tends to dry around my mouth 1st... This means a mask + movie + popcorn = ain't gonna happen, cause the mask will 'lift' around the mouth before the time is up! Great if your trying to stop yourself eating...
No 3 ~ Do not apply around small children... I fear this will make them cry. Hell, I scared myself! As you can see!
No 4 ~ When you start to peel, the little downy hairs by your ears... OUCH! Oh & mind the eyebrows.
No 5 ~ Try and not get it in your hair. If you do, baby wipes are the key. Don't try and gentle 'tug' said little bit of mask out... It takes a big bit of hair out!
Oh, it looks pretty grim after...

All in all though, the pros completely outweigh the cons!!
This plus all my healthy eating and exercise; I have honestly never seen my skin look so good!
I totally think you should go get this face mask!
I mean a quid?! Come on. You'd be stupid not to...

*Most people should be able to use this product, but as with any product recommendation & also if you suffer with sensitive skin, always conduct a patch test before use.
