A lot of couples tend to get stuck in a rut.
Myself and my boyfriend are included in this.
You get stuck in doing the same mundane things,
day in day out.
You take each other for granted, whether it be for household chores like the cooking, the washing up or even calling to and speaking to each other nonchalantly during the day.
Also, technology gets in the way!
One of you is watching the TV, whilst the other is on the laptop...
Or the TV is on, neither of you are watching, ones one the kindle and ones one their phone!
We all fall into that little routine after a while.
Its just amazing how easy it is to do that.
So, we all need a kick up the ass to sort ourselves out, look at what we have, respect, tenderly love and nourish it all over again.
That is why, every now and then, myself & my boyfriend like to just 'get away from it all' for a night or few.
Just so we can really focus on each other again.
We go to places where there are no phone signal, crap TV signal and lots of trees & nature.
That is where we seem to be our most happiest.
We pack our stuff, grab our books (NOT KINDLE), turn the wifi off and the mobile networks (they aint gonna work anyways!), grab our 'walking' trainers & our hoodies.
Oh and of course a waterproof coat...Its the UK after all.
This minibreak, does us both the world of good.
We forget about all our worries and concerns for this short amount of time and smile, laugh & really enjoy each others company, away from all the distractions that life throws at you.
We forget about how busy he is with work & everything also, how ill I have been.
Hell, we even laugh taking pictures of ourselves dripping wet in the pouring rain on our walks!
This is what life is meant to be like.
This is what we are together for in the first place.
To have fun, make memories & laugh whilst being loved.
So, if you are feeling the strain of life, try and take a step back from it all and see if it helps make a difference.
If you can take the kids to the woods or open fields they wood love it!
Much better than being stuck in on a computer all day.
Kate
