As you may have all read before, myself and my Mr are redoing our bedroom; we are a week and a half in. He has gave up! Lol. So I have roped Mum in to help.
It is now almost complete. It is just my O.C.D's and perfectionism that is stopping me from saying "Yes, its done". The colour 'Wild Orchard' is a beautiful choice for our feature wall (even though my Man likes it due to the fact he thinks is Aston Villa claret - its most certainly isn't. Ha) the other walls have 'Lilac' on them which once again, blowing my own trumpet, compliments the feature wall extremely well. Both paints were a matt finish, making the 'Lilac' look a fab pastel colour. We have done 3 layers of the 'Wild Orchard' and 2 coats of the 'Lilac'; no patches showing at all. It is just making sure that the lines are perfectly straight along the ceiling, skirting board, doors, etc.
This is the first time I have ever painted and decorated a whole room & I have absolutely loved every moment of it. :) Also, it is great exercise. Ha ha. I really ache! One thing I would recommend if you have IIH though... Don't bend over while cutting in by the skirting boards, or rollering! Why? I may sort of had a fainty moment... Ooops! But I'm all good. A pint of water & a sit down, I was sorted. I then carried on sitting down to do the bottom half of rollering and cutting in. ;)
All in all, I am happy with the result so far. Just a few bits to touch up, then French Boudoir painting of walls complete. YAY!
The bedside tables can wait to be completed; will more than likely combine those with painting my big chest of draws. One bedside table is half complete, just the handles and metal work to complete. However, I have an X-Ray lumbar puncture booked in for Thursday so will be out of action for a bit (and work before that). My lamps are all done. I will post a photo when we have everything back together & it doesn't look like a jumble sale!
All the metal work in the room is silver; I am going over it all with gold glitter paint! Because I can. My Mr has agreed. Anything I do in the house, like decorating, I always ask him what he would like, if he is ok with it and he normally is. I'm so lucky to have a bloke like him. :) Even the curtain rail is getting the treatment... I'm not doing it in a way that it ends up looking tacky, all I am doing is making it look 'Vintage', 'Worn' & 'Bespoke'. I love the fact that no one else will have my furniture, as it is all up cycled, original & I created it all lovingly. If I see anyone else has it... Well they obviously copied me and I shall take it as a compliment. :) The only thing anyone can really have the same as us, is our new grey/silver curtains & our bed from 4 years ago! Lol.
As you can see, I am super obsessed with our bedroom at the moment! No pictures yet. I want to wait until it is almost complete and like I said not looking like a jumble sale!!
Cant wait to show you all the final product/room.
Enjoy your weekend people.
