Strength Training ~ Weights

If you know me, follow me on social media or work with me, you will be aware that I am a tad obsessed with the gym and getting all of my vital nutrients into my system every day.
*If you have read up on memy experience with IIH & IIH then you will realise why*

My latest obsession at the gym is weights. Not just little weights, but testing my abilities and boundaries type of weights. Now that I know I am physically able to lift, I am increasingly getting more and more curious as to what point I will get to until I buckle.
Now, I know a few of you will think I'm cray-cray. I don't think so obviously! Ha. I think this attitude is completely 'normal' when you have already been pushed to the absolute limit by your body & come through it all, thanks to you never giving up.
Strong mentality.
This is why I want to see what weight I can get to before I cannot budge it.

I didn't realise my strength before I started weight training, was lifting and it was far too light... Awkward for the fella who went before me right!
I have slowly built it up so that I haven't damaged anything and I can lift on some bits the same (if not more) as my other half... He doesn't like that. Hahaha.

So, the other day, it got a bit competitive on the LEG PRESS with him and I...
I racked the weights up for him, he done his set and made all the facial expressions to say, yep that seems to be enough. I sat down to go... He says 'Oh, wait, Ill take some off'.
He had just pushed 100kg so he took off 2x 25kg (50kg) I then pushed and said 'Nah, that's too light! Put 'em back on!!' He went to protest, but with a look he didn't!! HAHA.
Again I pushed... Still too light... I then got up, told him to do his set as I went off to pick up more weights. I put an extra 50kg on. Sat and pushed. I could feel a little on my bum but not to the extent of, oh yes, this is it!
I done 3 sets of 20 reps, with complete ease, chatting away. He done it and struggled.
The weight I had just pushed was 150kg... That's over 23 & a half stone!
23 STONE!!
Not gonna lie, I'm ridiculously proud and excited about that result!!

And here are the weights up close:

At the top
2x 25kg = 50kg

Bottom left
25kg + 20kg + 5kg = 50kg

Bottom right
2x 25kg = 50kg

I now plan on upping the weight so that I start to feel the burn by about the 12th rep, as recommended by someone who trains hard & is a woman.
I need to do so with the rest of my weights too.

I completely believe in the mantra STRONG NOT SKINNY.

What do you do at the gym? Do you weight train?
