*60% of the body is made of water (broken down ~ muscles *75%, bones *22%, blood *83%) in order to keep everything functioning as it should we need to be replenishing the water loss throughout the day. Water helps us digest food properly & assist nutrients to the right areas just to name a couple.
Are you really hungry? Or are you just thirsty? Lots of people get the two confused. So next time you are feeling 'hungry', grab that glass (pint in my case) of water. You may just be dehydrated or thirsty. This is important advice if you are trying to lose weight!
Skin problems can be beaten by consuming water. It helps your system flush out all the nasties. Resulting in fewer skin imperfections or making them less of a regular occurrence. Oh, also, if your not getting enough sleep... It helps with those tired lids!
Hitting THE WALL at the gym! Yep, we all know it. It hurts, but water can help you push on through that last bit.
"What's that? 50 more squats? SURE! *Gulps water* Game on!"
BTW, those muscle cramps during/after the workout, yeah, they will decrease with a good intake of water. If you do cramp, grab a glass of the clear stuff.
Look how hard I am trying to convince you here!
H20 keeps everything on the go! When it comes to your bowels and kidneys that is... Yes, no one wants a backed up colon do they?! Water helps keep everything moving in the right direction & erm... Soften things!
Also, kidneys NEED this fuel. Vital in fact. The kidneys kick the unnecessary items out of our bodies. Without water, the kidneys cannot perform this function correctly.
It is also said to have an impact on helping you concentrate.
I am unsure how 'scientifically' proven this is, but hey, worth a shot! Sorry... Bad pun.
IIH'ers get that water in!! It helps with headaches/migraines etc. Aware it wont make an IIH headache go, but if you are suffering side effects, drink up baby!
ITS MAGIC!!
How much to consume?
The European Food Safety Authority recommend - Women about 1.6 litres of fluid & Men about 2.0 litres of fluid per day.
About eight glasses of 200ml each for Women and 10 glasses of 200ml each for a Men.
However common-sense people! If your thirsty DRINK! If your working out, walking, its a hot day, doing anything where your body is getting rid of fluid (Yes, that includes peeing!) DRINK WATER, H20!
How can you tell if you are drinking enough H20 or are actually dehydrated?
If you are taking supplements, tablets, vitamins etc then this can discolour you pee.
If you are worried or have really dark wee, then GO TO YOUR GP!
Hope I have helped convince a few of you out there...
