For some reason I have NEVER been able to watch horror films! They make me feel physically sick.
I can
feel my heart rate rising, my palms getting clammy, I can hear my heart/pulse
in my ears, amongst other fear orientating issues that your body produces!
Ask
anyone of my family or close friends, I have been unable or absolutely awful
whilst watching a horror or just a jumpy film.
The
closest I got to watching a horror was an action film, waiting for someone to
jump out at someone, whilst hiding behind a pillow.
Oh,
unless you count the time my Fiancé & Best Friend Vicky got me to watch
Paranormal Activity, when I had glandular fever, to "make me feel
better". I mean really?!?!
While
writing this, I can remember a time that my Dad was watching some awful, awful
film; I was unaware and walked in the darkened living room to see a man having
his heart ripped out by some demon/human/ugly looking thing with its bare
hands!! I almost fainted!
I had all
of this until, IIH.
Since
then I have been binge watching all types of horror films on NOW TV with my
Fiancé.
Odd don't
you think??
Why all
of a sudden can I watch these films?
I have
been mulling it over for a while. I think I have quite a simple answer...
I have
faced my biggest fear... Death.
Its in
ALL of the horror films.
Also I
use to be afraid of the dark. I no longer am, I now find it peaceful.
So having
faced up to the TWO biggest fears in my life, I now think that I can accept
that something I watch on TV isn't going to harm me.
I now
have a sense of calm instead of fear and fright.
Still odd
though.
For now.
