Our news in the UK has been dominated by the Alton Towers tragedy... And so it should be!
It is just so, so, so, sad that it even has to come to this. That it has to come to being in the news. That it has to even involve innocent lives who will have "life changing injuries".
Why did it happen? Especially in a "controlled" environment?! In a theme park that has been going for years that you feel 'safe' in. Because obviously, compared to the fairs that go up in the local park that get rigged up all the time, you kinda feel 'safe' in Alton Towers compared to that... No?!?!?!
When did making the fastest ride, the most loops, the most epic something ride wise, did we forget peoples safety??
I know we are all attracted to the 'extreme' in life or the most 'exciting' but, what about health & safety before its too late???
We are a nation that gets slated about our health and safety all the time. However, when it goes wrong... I don't see anyone complain then... If they do, it about how we can be MORE health and safety conscious. Where is the line between being too controlled & too relaxed?
Are you as confused as me?
Have you been effected by any of the recent news updates?
I would like to hear your point of view.
Kate
