Skincare...
We all use it (hopefully). It comes in all different price ranges; anything from under a pound to well over £500. Everyone from fashion brands YSL to the classic skincare 'experts' Scicilly and earthy companies like Origins have their own skincare ranges. They cater for most skin types. You can tell what brands are more into their skincare than makeup, as there are more options available when it come to their products. They have it all...
Oily, Normal, Dry, Combination, Teen, Preventative, First Steps of Ageing, Mature... The list is endless!
Lots of people tend to stick with one brand and are happy with it time & time again. They go back every time they run out of the product, chat to the same person they bought it off of, when it comes to the time to CHANGE their product as their skin has CHANGED... OMG!! CHANGE...
That word CHANGE. Lots of people freak out. They don't like to hear their skin has become different or is going to be different in time to come. Of course they/we expect it to be but when it comes to that moment, its still a shock. I mean routine has broken, right?
Well, for me that isn't quite the case. :/ My skin seems to do as it pleases and CHANGE is all it seems to do! So what I do to combat this, is product swap. My skin can be really oily sometimes, then dry, then combination; also I am now in my mid 20's so I need to start taking preventative action against wrinkles... I should already be doing this, but this kind of wasn't my priority with being so ill in hospital last year! Anyway, back on track! The two brands that I tend to swap between at the moment are Simple and Liz Earl.
Simple I use when my skin is feeling a bit oily as I use the wash & it leaves my skin feeling super fresh, obviously toner, the light lotion as it doesn't leave me with an oil slick(!) and the scrub that's a wash again (once a week).
Simple Skin Care
Kind to Skin >
Refreshing Facial Wash Gel Cleanser > Soothing Facial Toner > Hydrating Light Moisturiser > Smoothing Facial Scrub
Liz Earl I use when I have dry skin. It just feels so soothing on my face when its sensitive (dry = sensitive for me) Also its cream based that you use a hot cloth to bring off (lush), tone to freshen and tighten those pores, & the repairing moisturiser, still a light version as my skin may just want to break out otherwise(!) and a gentle exfoliator once a week.
Liz Earl Skin Care
Hot Cloth Cleanser > Instant Boost Skin Tonic > Skin Repair Moisturiser > Gentle Face Exfoliator
Hot Cloth Cleanser > Instant Boost Skin Tonic > Skin Repair Moisturiser > Gentle Face Exfoliator
If my skin is combination, I will see what it is edging nearer & grab that skin care. :)
Obviously, whilst I was unwell for the majority of last year, I was unable to do any of my usual skincare routine. Or most things. Instead I relied on Superdrug's Own Brand Facial Wipes... Hey, at least I cleaned my face!!

In the summer I protect my face with Elizabeth Arden's SPF 50 Face Cream.
I also generally use there skin protectant. It is THE most amazing product EVER!! Its great for sore skin, burns, cuts, mix with blusher for cream blush or for a lip balm, put in ends of hair to act as a serum/conditioner... Honestly it does so much, its a fab product!

Vaseline. I use this to remove my eye makeup. Sounds strange I know, so effective however and gentle on your eyes.

What I am basically saying is, don't be scared of CHANGE, (when it comes to skincare or in general) it may take you a few times to get it correct/get the right one to suit your skin/get the right moisturiser (cream/lotion/gel etc) but there is so much available, so its bound to be a mine field!
Just have fun with it and smile and laugh you way though to fabulous skin! :)
ITS BETTER TO HAVE LAUGHTER LINES, THAN FROWN LINES! :)
