Wednesday I went to hospital for my eye check & unguided lumbar puncture. My eye appointment got cancelled last minute, but I still went along for my LP. Unfortunately, after FIVE very painful attempts to drain the fluid and get a reading for how much pressure is in my brain, it was unsuccessful. I've got to admit, it was one of the most painful LP's I've had done and I've had over 25 done in the past year! Anyway, I'm back to hospital next Wednesday for my eye appointment, as there is definite swelling of my optical discs and they want to make sure I don't lose any vision. They are also scheduling a emergency xray guided LP due to other effects I'm having.
After all that you'd expect me to be rather negative, right? WRONG! IIH won't defeat me! Yes I now have a bad back on top of it all.
However, my gorgeous Mr has bought me away for a couple of nights, for some retail therapy and to see my friend. :)
Instead of wallowing in self pitty, I packed my favourite clothes, favourite makeup of the moment, done my nails and slapped a smile on my face!! I've done fab make up and hair and made myself feel good (even got chatted up at the bar when the Mr wasn't about... My reaction was to run to my man! Haha) I've had a lovely time of shopping, (more nail stuff!!!) tea rooms and I even let him go watch the footie! ;)
