Daith do us part?

Recently I have been more and more intrigued as to whether I should or shouldn't have the daith piercing done on myself.

Obviously it wouldn't get rid of IIH head pain, but as I am in remission from this, its not that pain that I am wishing to be rid of.
I still get migraines and headaches (as that's what IIH has left me with) but I refuse to give in to them. In-fact I got one during Pretty Muddy the other day and pushed on through.

I have been trying to get as much information on this piercing as I possibly can before I decide to take the plunge; as its not a fashion thing for me, its a 'I hope it cures' or 'I hope it helps' in some way. I want it to help me, rather than hinder.

This is some evidence I have found on why I shouldn't get it:

^ When you see a statement like this, from a medical professional, it makes you wonder why you are even considering such a thing... Then I read it again. EVIDENCE is the key word here. There has probably not been a study or there is very little information available on the subject of head-pain and daith piercings... Acupuncture, yes. Piercings, no. Read into that statement as you wish...

^ The next reason is infection. Yep. I remember when I had the top part of my cartilage pierced it went a bit septic; even though all the right precautions were followed, it was just unfortunate. It happens. But your ears are an important and vital part of your senses and anatomy... OH the risk!

^ Headphones. I'm gonna need to change the type of headphones I use.

Whenever I have actively looked, there have been about 5 people say that they are a success in their daith story to the one that hasn't... The one that hasn't is normally a medical professional stating there isn't any evidence available...
Maybe they should start having a look at what people are actually saying about their daith piercings and how their migraines, headaches and general head-pains have been (gone) since they bit the bullet and had a hole & bit of metal put in their ear!!
Or maybe they wont, cause its a cheaper alternative to all the drugs they like to pump into us for brain control (also some sort of commission) from the drugs companies they use...
But hey, just my opinion.

With all the above information presented. I think I shall be getting this piercing sorted, sooner rather than later.
